About Us

Delta Zeta Sorority was founded by Alfa Lloyd, Mary Collins, Anna Keen, Juila Bishop, Mabelle Minton and Anne Simmons at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, on October 24, 1902.

The Founders then went on to lay the foundation for the Sorority which would have a national reach. Today, Delta Zeta has enriched the lives of over 240,000 alumnae and collegiate members in the United States and Canada.

The Omicron Zeta chapter at Randolph-Macon College in Ashland, Virginia was established on campus in 1991.

Delta Zeta’s mission is to be a lifelong, values-based membership experience for women. Delta Zeta’s vision is to be a global women’s organization whose shared values truly inspire action and impact lives.

AND TO THOSE CLOSER ONES
A LOVE THAT IS EVER STEADFAST

A Letter from our President!

My name is Maddy Sayasithsena, and I am honored to serve as the president of Delta Zeta’s Omicron Zeta chapter. I’m incredibly excited for this opportunity to lead our amazing chapter of 44 incredible women, all of whom are dedicated to upholding Delta Zeta’s six core values: friendship, belonging, curiosity, empowerment, generosity, and community.

Our chapter, founded in 1991, has been built on a legacy of growth, learning, and leadership. We pride ourselves on being a diverse group of women, each striving to make a difference. With 100% involvement in organizations outside of our sorority, our members excel as athletes, researchers, friends, colleagues, scholars, and more. It’s our differences that make us stronger, and it’s our shared love for sisterhood and friendship that binds us together.

I joined Delta Zeta in the fall of 2022 during my first semester as a freshman. I initially went through recruitment hoping to meet new people and make friends, but what I found was so much more—I discovered a sisterhood that feels like home. From the moment I stood in a room filled with women who truly supported and admired one another, I knew I had found my place.

In my two years as a Delta Zeta, I’ve had the privilege of serving as both external social chair and risk manager. These roles have allowed me to develop my communication, leadership, and planning skills while creating lasting memories. As social chair, I collaborated with other campus organizations to plan mixers and events, like a cookie-decorating contest with Kappa Alpha Theta and a game night with Sigma Phi Epsilon—some of my favorite experiences so far. As a risk manager, I had the opportunity to organize formals and guide our chapter in living out Delta Zeta’s values.

As President, my goal is to empower every sister in our chapter to grow, lead, and thrive. I want to ensure that every member feels welcomed and supported as we continue to embody Delta Zeta’s values in everything we do. Together, we can foster a culture of growth, belonging, and lifelong friendship as we step into 2025.

Being part of Delta Zeta has changed my life in countless ways, and I’m grateful every day for the love, support, and opportunities this sisterhood has given me. If you’re looking for a place to call home, where you’ll meet lifelong friends and create cherished memories, I encourage you to sign up for recruitment. It might just change your life the way it changed mine.

DZ Love,
Maddy Sayasithsena
